I was born and raised all the way up in the northwest, and I miss it a lot, but my hubby and I never thought that we would transport down here, but his mom got legitimately sick about ten years ago, and his dad could not take care of her on his own. My lovely husband and I did not want her to have to live in a nursing home, so all of us moved down south to take care of her. I prefer being close to his family, but I do not enjoy the weather around here. It gets over 1 hundred degrees during the summer time weeks quite often, and to me, that is just ridiculous. I do not suppose how some people are a fan of this massive heat. My hubby grew up here, so he is a little bit more used to it than I am, but he also got extremely adapted to the cooler weather of the northwest; The number one thing that is nice about residing here though is that the winters are so laid back. It does not get even close to as freezing here as it does up north. I miss the snow sometimes, but I do not miss the bitter freezing Winter afternoons. I have one little ductless heating system that is also an a/c, and it heats our condo up nicely. We do not even need any other source of heat in our house. It blows our mind because I am used to having to find all sorts of ways to stay overheated during the wintertime. That medium sized heating system is entirely amazing. I do not suppose how much longer his mom will live, but I am willing to stay here as long as she needs us even if it means being extremely warm for most of the year.
