Some people say that I have unusual hobbies.
Personally, I think that what I do is very normal if other people would just join in.
It’s not like I’m up to any illicit activities or I’m trying to change the world. I just like to go around and collect treasures that other people have thrown away without thinking twice. Yep, I’m one of those people who goes dumpster-diving and thrifting on a regular basis. If you haven’t been to a thrift store lately, let me tell you that you are missing out on awesome stuff. I love to go to my local second hand store and collect all of the useful items I can… Especially space heaters. This might seem like a strange thing to collect because some folks have a negative opinion of space heaters. I think that the old rudimentary portable heaters of many years ago scarred a lot of us. Literally. I know that there used to be a lot of trouble with space heaters causing burns and fires. At that time, the space heaters didn’t have any safety functions to stop them from overheating and burning down your home. That being said, to this day I believe that space heaters are incredibly useful. In fact, I normally have a collection of several dozen portable heaters by the end of the year. At that point, I take them all to my local shelter and donate them to provide additional heat to the facility. I know that local homeless shelters are always in need of additional heating implements and I’m happy to share my second hand treasures with them.
