Wife is putting us out of house and home with HVAC habit

No matter what I tried to tell her about the shortcomings of a central heating and cooling system, she was convinced that the central HVAC should be able to perfectly manage our indoor air quality.

When I got married I agreed to be with my wife through thick and thin. We said till death do us part and I absolutely meant it. However, there was nothing in our marriage vows about winding up in the poorhouse because she can’t control herself indoors. You see, my wife is not a financially responsible human being. I am always in charge of managing our finances and making sure that we have any money to pay the bills. Meanwhile, she runs around buying stupid crap and filling our house with things we don’t need. Then, she freaks out because the indoor air quality isn’t good enough for all of her treasures. She is so concerned about indoor air temperature control and air quality management that it drives me up the wall. It’s about to put us both on the streets, besides. I realized that we had a problem the day after we got married when she touched the thermostat about a dozen times within an hour. She kept going back to the air temperature control unit and insisting that something was wrong with the hot and cold patches throughout the house. No matter what I tried to tell her about the shortcomings of a central heating and cooling system, she was convinced that the central HVAC should be able to perfectly manage our indoor air quality. Ever since then, she has been a slave to the thermostat unit. Her unfortunate habit costs us a ton of money every month when the energy bill rolls around. If our heating and cooling system ever fails – and it will – I know we’re going to be in deep trouble. I’m not sure where she’ll keep all of her treasures when we are homeless.
