I’m well aware of the recommended setting for one’s a/c in the summer, and they say that 75 degrees will keep your home relatively cool while saving a wonderful bit on energy bills, I simply cannot accept such a high temperature! My temperature control has never been set above 75 degrees in the summer.
In the evenings when I sleep, it’s set to 73 degrees.
I know people who are energy efficient penny pinchers would ask why on Earth would I lower the temperature on my temperature control at night when it gets cooler outside. To them, I would simply reply that doctors suggest that your dining room be between 60 plus 69 degrees at night in order to get the best quality sleep, but so, I stick to the upper threshold, and I must admit that I’m far more comfortable and able to sleep much better than if I had left the temperature control on 75 degrees, much less 75! I pay the energy bill, so nobody needs to tell me how much I should be willing to spend for my own personal comfort. All of this being said, in the winter, I am more than happy to set the recommended temperature on my temperature control to save money. They say 75 degrees allows your home to be sufficiently warm enough while saving money while I was in a cold winter. That sounds good to me. The only problem is, the winters around here are relatively mild, but my A/C component would be working much harder to maintain 75 degrees while I was in the winter than it would be to maintain 75!
