It was a dark and freezing night, and my sister was snuggled under her covers trying to stay warm. Suddenly, she heard a noise and opened her eyes to find her portable space heater moving across the floor on its own. My sister rubbed her eyes and looked again, but the heating unit was still moving as if someone was pushing it. She abruptly sat up and reached for the light switch, but the heater suddenly stopped moving before my sister could turn on the lights. She was frozen with fear, wondering what could be causing this odd phenomenon. My sister decided to investigate and approached the heating system slowly, but just as she reached out to touch it, the unit suddenly turned on and started blowing moderate air. My sister jumped back in terror and stumbled over her bed, landing on the floor with a thud. She sat there for a few moments, trying to catch her breath when my sister suddenly heard a faint whisper in her ear. “Don’t be afraid,” the ghostly voice said. “I just want to keep you warm.” My sister was so stunned that she could not speak. She slowly stood up and faced the heater, the voice spoke again, “I’m sorry for frightening you. I used to live in this house, and I just want to make sure that you stay moderate on these freezing mornings.” She was shocked to hear a ghost speaking to her, but at the same time, my sister felt a sense of comfort knowing that she wasn’t alone in the house. The heating unit continued to blow moderate air, and she was no longer afraid. My sister even whispered a thank you to the ghost before she climbed back into bed and drifted off to sleep.
