I made a mistake by having my husbandy help me with a master bathroom renovation… The two of us did a pretty enjoyable job for not being plumbers.
The issue is that my associate and I don’t really know what my associate and I are doing, then my husbandy installed the shower plumbing! He got the drain moved and did the controls.
He must have messed up something with the controls though. My buddy and I put cement over top of all the work, grouted, and caulked. Then I ran my shower for over a year before I started noticing leaks. My shower head consistently leaks now, however it is a large pain in the butt. I have googled and done more research to find that the control must be a mess. To access it cement needs to be detached and then the guts of the shower are taken out. That doesn’t sound like a DIY project. I have asked my husbandy to do it but he is scared to tackle something of that magnitude. I totally get it, so I am now on the hunt for a licensed plumber to do some shower work for me. I want him to access the shower controls and repair it. I just want the leaks gone and not to worry about it anymore. I want to be able to pay someone to make my concerns go away. I am really hoping he will put a new cement back up for me if I supply the material. I don’t want to lift a finger and possibly screw something up. I know I won’t be doing house renovations again.
