I know this might sound odd, but my small little heater saved my life.
I used to always use my gas furnace to keep myself warm during the coldest of winters, and it was always reliable, however I had started to notice that with age it was needing more routine care from the HVAC businesses in my area.
As I watched it age, I knew it wouldn’t be long before I would have to completely replace it and get a brand new heater, I didn’t however think it would happen as quickly as it did. We were right in the middle of a very cold winter when my furnace completely died. I would say it was terrible timing, but that wouldn’t be enough to explain the terrible situation I was in. I first called emergency HVAC services as I was concerned that I might freeze to death, I didn’t have anyone that lived nearby to go and stay with and my home didn’t have a fireplace. For a brief moment I was in a panic, but then I remembered that I always came prepared and remembered I had a small space heater that I had purchased sometime back stored in the shed outside. I rushed out and got the heater as quickly as I could and it wasn’t long before I successfully got it running and I started warming up again. The small and simple space heater prevented me from freezing to death and got me through the cold until the emergency HVAC technicians arrived at my home and repaired my gas furnace.
