I have an amount of confidence in the smart thermostat that the HVAC professional installed back in March.

We always get the air conditioning tune up done early in Spring. But this year, I chose to finally add the smart thermostat. Too many people that I actually trust and respect have just raved about the smart thermostat for far too long for me to continue to resist. And I was resisting because I’m sort of overloaded with technology in general. Plus, I have a tough time with giving up control. This is an aspect of my personality that I’m really trying to work on. I’ll get crazy about trying to manipulate or control elements in my life that I need to just relax about. My wife has made this abundantly clear to me over our entire married life. But she’s one hundred percent correct. The more I let go of thing and trying to control all outcomes, the easier I live my life. So giving up control of the heating and cooling was a pretty big step for me because I am the original heat miser. We live in a region where the air conditioning costs can go wild over the next four consecutive months. So I was always fiddling with or reprogramming the digital thermostat to the point of distraction. That’s going to change now that we have the smart thermostat. In fact, I’m not touching the new thermostat at all to give it a fair chance. But as we lean into June, this is the time that I’ll need to see the true power of this HVAC technology when it comes to saving me money.
