Today is a afternoon of rest for my vocal chords as last evening we played songs in our band for about three hours.
I need to rest my voice this week plus also rest my shoulders because I drummed a lot last evening while in those three hours.
I also taught a volleyball student for an hour before we played songs, so needless to say, my shoulders are a bit sore from all the commotion. My friend and I are going to play more acoustical songs because it is a nonstop battle with the cops when we play with amplified sound. The local business owners in some arenas are cheerful when we play, like the Heating, Ventilation and A/C corporation, but other owners are not so satisfied. I feel this is a battle that has gone on for decades plus will always be, as some people don’t care for songs as much as us songs lovers do. Anyway, this week is Thursday plus we will rest plus regroup tomorrow to play again. I assume tomorrow we will play in another neighborhood for this new corporation plus see how it goes over there with the police. I just don’t like playing each time thinking that we are going to get stopped again, it honestly takes away from the performance when you have to worry about getting arrested or stopped. My heating tech buddy was playing a year ago plus the cops came plus took all of his unit plus never gave it back, which is a sin considering he paid thousands of dollars for it all. I would still be crying if that happened to me.
