I have to admit, I was pretty broken up when all our kids went off to college and moved out on their own.
We have this treehouse that we built together in the backyard.
There’s also a very strong branch that we attached a swing to and the kids always had a good time swinging there under their treehouse. I would hook up a window A/C unit in there during the summer and a portable heater during the winter so they could enjoy playing in the treehouse year round. It’s comfortable up there and it’s pretty easy to keep it clean too. Well, I was sad for a long time when I would look at the window and see the empty treehouse and nobody swinging on that old swing. Of course, I was proud of all my children for their accomplishments. I was even more delighted when they eventually decided to have families of their own. Before I knew it, we had a bunch of grandkids and suddenly they were coming to visit all the time! I was absolutely overjoyed when they all fell in love with the old treehouse and the swing. It is kind of like old times when our youngsters used to play back there all the time. There is something different though that’s better than back then, and that’s the heating and cooling for the treehouse. I decided to hook up solar panels along with a ductless mini split. It provides both heating and cooling for year round comfort. It even has air purification which is fantastic!
