A saying in business states that your network is your wealth.
- I believe this statement to be true because of the networks that played a big part when I decided to start my cooling company.
Some of my networks assisted in providing guidance, mentorship, and support. I am always on the lookout for making new meaningful connections. Last week I added to growing my network more. It was a slow day because it was the first day of summer, and people were enjoying the sun after months of cold temperatures. A call came in requesting a cooling technician to check the air conditioner at a residence in an affluent neighborhood. On getting there, we discovered the problem was dirty air filters and ducts. The state of the vents was putting a strain on the climate control unit, and it eventually stopped working. We started by examining the a/c setup and did some duct sealing on the parts that had come undone. We then proceeded with the duct cleaning process. Once we were done, the customer, a very successful software programmer, was impressed with the improved indoor air quality. We struck up a conversation with the customer. We had such good rapport that he ended up taking my number. We met again after a few weeks to discuss business, which included me venturing into improving cooling technology and equipment. That day I went home full of hope and renewed energy in my work as a cooling specialist. The next day we got more calls, mainly on HVAC maintenance. My cooling specialist and I offered the best a/c service we could to get as many repeat customers as possible. Every HVAC system we worked on gave us hope for the future.
