Well, it is almost time to hit the road and take a break from the screen.

My eyes start to feel bugeyed after looking at the screen for too much time.

Today is no exception and I am going to take a little break after I finish this article and go look out at the sea for a bit to relax my eyes. I want to see how many people are out there today because yesterday was slammed when I went out first thing in the morning. It was a holiday yesterday come to find out, and the local contractor told me today is going to be dead and many local businesses won’t even be open today because it will be too slow. It will be a slow day for me except for training a couple people in yoga, a workout session, and a volleyball training session. So yeah, I don’t just do HVAC repairs but I also wear several other hats, and also earn a little money playing music in air conditioned clubs around town. It isn’t a lot of money, but playing music in the streets earns me enough to pay for all of my food each month. The HVAC supplier joins us sometimes and plays the sax, but he lets us keep the tips because he makes loads from running the heating and cooling corp each week. He just wants to come out and play for fun and maybe get in some of our new songs that we record and put online. Anyway, I’m off for some natural climate control on my bike.

It will be the first day of summer in two more weeks and I am gearing up for it. I won’t play as much beach ball this summer like last summer because my shoulders need a rest. I dislocated my right shoulder five times the past couple of years and told myself there won’t be a sixth time. It does not feel good when the shoulder pops out and I know it isn’t good for the ligaments and tendons, so I am backing off from volleyball and focusing on our band from here on out. My flat is heating up quite a bit and it isn’t from my hydronic heating system but from Mother Nature herself. The days are getting really long and the sun isn’t setting till after 9:30pm, which makes for some really long nights. I normally was in bed with the heating system on by 10pm in the wintertime, but now that things are heating up and summer is here my bedtime is closer to 1am and I am finding myself running the mini split a/c unit in my room each night. Today I will get my work done by early afternoon and then head out to train a lady in ball, which is much easier on my shoulder than playing those competitive matches that need a lot of shoulder action. I like cooling down my body in the sea after training and then heating it up with a hot shower when I get home in the evening, which works well thanks to my new hot water heating system.

I am listening to some of our music while I work and it is pretty fun to listen to.

We sang about the Frenchman, who is my buddy that owns a restaurant, and we made up a song on the spot when we saw him.

We make up our songs in the moment and use people and things around us for topics. If there is a dog barking while we are singing a song about a submarine then we change the song to a dog on a submarine, something that my standup comedy career taught me how to do. Heating and cooling system seem like a boring topic to sing about, but with the funky twist we put on it, the HVAC topic turns into something special. We had a few really good songs the other day and I have to work on them and get them mastered and uploaded onto our site. I am working with the HVAC supplier in the evenings to get more songs online and I am helping him with radiant heated floors for his customers. My goal is to have 100 songs on our site by the end of this year, something that won’t be easy but will be well worth it in the end. I told the heating contractor that I would make a good song about radiant heating if he helps me edit more songs this year, and hopefully the song will help his HVAC business get more work. I don’t know where this music venture is going to take me over the years but I am ready to go there.

My sister and I live about five houses from one another.

• And it’s been so amazing.

She came to this area to look for a dwelling when she got fatigued of the neighborhood life. My friend and I are in a rural area, but it’s not too remote. So, you can still get to the neighborhood in 45 minutes or so. My sister wanted to buy a house, and for sure, I was there to help her with the search. I assume my kids were more glad to have her close. I am a single mom of 4, and they prefer their aunt because well, she spoils them rotten. My sister works from dwelling so it’s been so amazing having her around to help babysit. I try not to take luck of her, but I know she doesn’t mind at all. At times she even comes, picks the kids, and I will learn about that later. Anyway, on this one day, she dropped by to take them for ice cream and found me dealing with a HVAC issue. The cooling system was making an weird noise that was distressing since it was summer. No one wanted to be in a dwelling without a/c when it was 95F outside. My sister told me to just call the HVAC corporation and have them come to inspect the faulty cooling unit. I know one HVAC corporation that does same-day repairs, so I provided them a call. As I was waiting for the HVAC corporation to arrive, my sister and my kids left to go love ice cream. I was promised some, but I had to stay back to get the weird cooling system noise sorted out.

There is no question that I’m all about whatever is enjoyable for home and family.

• But I can tend to be a bit hit and miss at times when it comes to both.

For sure, my family is the main motivation and focus for my life. There are times when I’m in the shower dreading another morning inside the commercial Heating, Ventilation, and A/C of the office.
